Prepositions Of time:
are used when there is a need to indicate when a particular event happened.
Examples: In, On, At, Since, For, During.
Example in a sentence
- I have been studying in the morning.
- She was born on 5th of March.
- I will reach there at 11 o’clock.
Prepositions of place
illustrate the location of nouns or pronouns in a sentence. Examples: In, On, Between, Behind, Under, Over, Near.
Example in a sentence
- The squirrel is on the tree.
- Jean and Sam live near their workplace.
- Joseph is not in his room.
Prepositions of movement
describe the movement of one noun or pronoun towards another noun or pronoun.
Examples: to, into, towards, through etc.
Example in a sentence
- Sarah went to the drug store.
- The kids jumped into the pool.
- The bull was coming towards us.
Prepositions of manner
describe the way or means by which something happened or happens, when used in
a sentence. Examples: On, In, With, By, Like

- We go to work by bus.
- I came here in a taxi.
- The little girl speaks like an old woman.
Prepositions of agent
or instrument indicate that an action conducted on a noun is caused by
another noun, when used in a sentence. Example: by, with.

- This poem was written by Shakespeare.
- My aunt could not open the door with that key.
- Susan is writing note with her red pen.
Prepositions of measure
connect the quantity of the noun with the noun itself, when used in a sentence.
Examples: of, by.

- I bought a litter of milk today.
- Half of the students were present in the class.
- This restaurant sells pizza by the yard.
Prepositions of source
convey that one noun or pronoun has originated from another noun or pronoun in
the sentence. Examples: from, by.

- The planets receive light from the Sun.
- This poem was not written by me.
- He did the favor from gratitude.
Prepositions of possession
indicate that one noun or pronoun owns another noun or pronoun in the sentence.
Examples: in, with, of.

- I met an attractive woman with red hair today.
- My brother has no money on him.
- He is not a man of wealth.

Prepositions In, On and At
In, on and at are among the most common prepositions in English. If you learn how to use them appropriately you will achieve an advance level of the language.
First of all, you must know that they can be divided into two types of prepositions: time and place.First of all, you must know that they can be divided into two types of prepositions: time and place.
Prepositions of place or location
In: As a preposition of place, in is used to idicate countries, cities, neighborhoods and enclosed spaces.
Examples:
1. I live in Costa Rica.
2. I have some friends living in London.
3. I wold like to buy a house in Chelsea.
4. I will sleep in the car.Examples:1. I live in Costa Rica.2. I have some friends living in London.3. I wold like to buy a house in Chelsea.4. I will sleep in the car.
On: As a preposition of place, on is used to idicate streets, avenues, surfaces, means of transport nad communications.
Examples:
1. There is a beatiful coffee shop on Diamond Street.
2. I have a friend who works on the Fifth Avenue.
3. The pencil is on the desk.
4. I met your brother on the bus.
5. I heard about the new store on the radio. Examples:1. There is a beatiful coffee shop on Diamond Street.2. I have a friend who works on the Fifth Avenue.3. The pencil is on the desk.4. I met your brother on the bus.5. I heard about the new store on the radio.
At: as a preposition of place, at is used to indicate addresses and specific locations. Examples:1. My favourite coffee shop is at 68 Madison Street. 2. The bench I told you about is at Caribeños bus station.

In: as a preposition of time, in is used to indicate: centuries, decades, years, months, weeks, seasons, periods of time, holidays, and parts of the day.
Examples: 1. I like the Victorian age wich was cometime in the 1800's.
2. I love the music the tenagers listened to in the 1980's.
3. My teacher is really young. She was born in 1993.
4. I always visit my friends in Honduras in April.
5. You will have the test in twoo weeks.
6. I like to go to the beach in spring.
7. In the future, I will be wiser if a keep reading this kind of books.
8. My uncle is visiting us in the Thanksgiving Holiday this year.
9. Sharon attends English classes in the mornings.
On: as a preposition of time, on is used to indicate: time, days, dates, specific days, day+part of day, holidays with "day".
Examples:
1. I prefer to do the laundry on weekends.
2. I like to eat out on Fridays.
3. The party will be on March 20th in the afternoon.
4. I like to go to the movies on my birthday.
5. I attend a yoga class on Wednesday morning.
6. Come to my house on Independence day.
At: as a preposition of time, at is used to indicate hours, parts of the day, time, holidays without "day".
1. Edna will be there at 3:00 pm.
2. They will have lunch at noon.
3. They must be there at the moment of your arrival.
4. Errold will be in Germany at New Year's Eve.
